Vanlife, shrimps & good friends by the sea

Sometimes it doesn't take much: a good friend, the smell of the sea, an old van called TC - and a bottle of wine from South Africa. Our destination: Zeeland. Our plan: no plan. Only one thing was clear - visit Mac & Ela, collect beach moments and get stuck in with the wooden spoon.

After a stopover at the pony farm in Argtkerque - yes, that's right, we spent the night at a pony farm - we continued towards the coast. Zeeland, you beauty. Dune sand under your feet, salty air in your nose - and in the middle of it all, us and our mobile home.

In the evening, we cooked up a meal for Mac & Ela right on the beach: spaghetti with prawns, garlic, chilli and olive oil, served with a fresh salad. To accompany the wine: a Spier Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa - fruity, fresh, just perfect for the sea.

For dessert? No tiramisu, but two honest classics: Jägermeister and Underberg. Sunset, friends, and life suddenly tastes very simple.

And for those who prefer to eat out instead of cooking: Our restaurant tip: https://www.noordduine.com/de/ delicious, relaxed, with fresh cuisine right by the dunes. Perfect for a lunch after a walk on the beach or a dinner with a view of the sunset.

Our Zeeland short tips:

• Noordduinen - pure nature and a restaurant tip

• Spend the night at the pony farm in Argtkerque - simple but charming

• Cooking on the beach - with wind, waves and good wine

• Spier Sauvignon Blanc instead of supermarket wine - quality pays off

• Weekly market in Zoutelande - fresh cheese, fish and friendly faces
