Cape Frank is not your typical company – it’s a life project.
I am Frank Rink, 60 years young, adventurer, host, car enthusiast – and happily married to the best woman in the world: Lenka Rink, creative powerhouse and the heart of my second half of life. We are not your average couple – and our path has never been average either. After graduating from high school, I trained as a real estate agent and started my own business in my early 20s – with my own estate agency and property management company. For over 35 years, I have successfully brokered real estate, built, renovated, sold and rented houses in Germany. My company, Rink Immobilien, still exists today.
I know the industry inside out – from the initial contact with buyers to the handover of keys, from project developers to notaries. I have managed, supported and valued hundreds of properties. And it is precisely this expertise that I am now bringing to South Africa.
At the same time, I was a mechanic for English classic cars, a passionate handball player and a night waiter in a discotheque – life was always colourful.
In the 90s, I entered the travel business – we organised adventure trips through Europe: rafting, heliboarding, canyoning. On one of these tours, I met Lenka – she came from advertising, had her own ideas, courage and passion. Together, this became a real life project.
In 2008, we opened our first sushi bar, “Kugelfisch,” followed by more gastro projects: Sushi-Blitz, Gesindehaus, Juut Food, and Pöppsche Imbiss – all created with heart, humor, and a hands-on attitude.
In between, we restored cars, built houses, organized events – standing still was never our thing.
Why Cape Town?
In 2010, we traveled to Cape Town for the first time – and fell in love instantly. With the light, the vastness, the energy. Since then, we’ve spent the winter months here regularly, founded Frankas Place, renovated a house, received our Permanent Residence – and learned from experience: Settling in South Africa is no walk in the park.
